Basketball Season Well Underway
With the turning of the calendar page to January, the weather outside is getting colder, but the action in the CA gym is heating up. Seven teams from grades 3-12 are now in the gym practicing and playing games. Almost every night of the week sees game action home, away, or both. The top story of the year thus far has been the hot start of the Varsity Boys’ team. Coach Kelleher’s Chargers have rattled off six straight wins to open the season, five of them by 10 or more points and, they currently hold the top spot in the Vermont Principal’s Association Division IV rankings. Not to be left behind, Coach Thomas and his Lady Chargers have hit their stride winning two in a row and evening their record to 3-3 on the season. If you have pictures from the season you would like to share please e-mail them to me at jhouston@ossu.org and we will post them on the website.
As the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, the gym is heating up. Open gyms for some students have begun already with more to come. Keep your eyes and ears open for the announcements for more information. Varsity teams will begin practicing on Monday, November 28. Lower-level teams will begin in early-mid December. I am currently working on the schedule for teams in grades 3-8 and the varsity schedule will be posted on the website soon. | Last Alumni Game Scheduled in Old Gym
Open Gym The gymnasium at Craftsbury Schools is open for conditioning to boys and girls. Girls in grades 7-12 have access to the gymnasium Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 4-5:30 pm. Boys have access on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6:45pm. Coach Thomas says conditioning is a top priority this year. He adds, "If you have not done any high energy workouts since soccer season you have lost half your aerobic and anaerobic gains. |
